ICC Player of the Month: Rishabh Pant won the ICC Player of the Month award.

ICC Player of the Month: Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant after his heroic against Australia, emerged as the ICC inaugural Player of the Month. Pant gave two match-winning performance against Australia last month to win the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 with 2-1 Lead.

The left-handed batsman scored 97 at Sydney and an unbeaten 89 at Brisbane Gaba to seal the iconic series against Australia in Australia.

Rishabh Pant appreciated the initiatives taken by the ICC to motivate the cricketers for their performances in the recent past. 

?For any sportsperson, contributing to a team win is the ultimate reward but such initiatives help motivate youngsters such as myself to do better each time,? Rishabh Pant after winning the inaugural award.

Pant against the likes of Joe Root, Paul Stirling won the awards for his crucial knock.

ICC Women's Player of the Month Award:

For the women?s? category, South African Shabnim Ismail was named as the winner of the inaugural award.

Ismail in the three games ODI series against Pakistan took seven scalps and ran through Pakistani T20 lineup in the second T20I as she picked five wickets to win the game.

All the three nominees were chosen on the basis of the on-field performances and overall achievements in the given one months period i.e., from the first day of the month to the last day.

The voting was then conducted to choose the winner among the nominees. The voting is done by the independent ICC Voting academy and the fans across the globe.

The ICC Voting Academy comprises of the former cricket personalities along with senior journalist and members of ICC Hall of Fame.
