ICC T20 World Cup 2021 confirmed to be held in the UAE: Sourav Ganguly.
ICC T20 World Cup 2021: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly on Monday confirmed that the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) owing to the covid situations in the country.
Ganguly said that the event is being shifted to the UAE due to the player?s safety and the decision is taken after keeping players and management in the centre.
?We have officially intimated the ICC that the T20 World Cup can be shifted to the United Arab Emirates. The details are being chalked out,? Ganguly said.
?The decision was taken keeping health safety concerns of all stakeholders in mind,? he added.

Even though the tournament is shifted to the UAE, BCCI will retain the hosting rights of the showpiece event.
The former cricketer further said that the complete details and schedule will be out in the next couple of days and 17th October is not a finalised date for the World Cup 2021.
The 2021's T20 World Cup was originally slated to be held in India during October-November, however, the dreaded situation in the country has forced the officials to take necessary steps to prevent players and management of 16 nations participating in the World Cup from the virus.
The global body of cricket has already started the preparations for the World Cup.
As per the reports, the qualifying rounds of the tournament could be held in Muscat, Oman?s capital, which will help UAE pitches to get some time to recover after the IPL 2021, which is scheduled from September 17 to October 15.
