The first session of Day 1 went in the favor of the hosts where they were able to bowl out half of the visitors at just 57 runs but Dhananjaya De Silva and Kamindu Mendis came to the rescue.
They both posted their respective centuries and Sri Lanka were in the driving seat right from the first innings. They were up to the mark to restrict Bangladesh to a mere total of 188 runs, and having a lead of 92 runs in the first innings, Sri Lanka made it only going up.
