ICC WTC Final: We are just one sleep away from the biggest game of Test cricket. It?s time for the ultimate Test as India and Australia will cross swords with each other in the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC). Both teams have been putting in the hard yards and are leaving no stone unturned for the game. The hard work of the last two years has reached a pinnacle end and whosoever adapts to the condition will emerge victorious and will have their hands at the trophy.?
ICC WTC Final: Who will win if rain plays spoilsport in the WTC Final between India and Australia?
The ICC WTC Final will take place from 7th to 11th June at the Oval ground in England. With the match slated to take place in the UK, one cannot rule out the weather as we have often seen rain playing spoilsport in the games, which has hampered the results and has even washed out many games as well.?
The rain played a spoilsport in the last final of the WTC Final but we, however, were lucky to get a result as New Zealand defeated India by 8 wickets to win the game. But if the rain plays a part this time, ICC has kept a reserve day on 12th June.
It?ll come into play only if rain or weather plays spoilsport during the match. The amount of time or the overs lost can be made up on the reserve day in case there is no result after five days.
But the question remains what if rain denies the result and who will be crowned as the winner? In that case, India and Australia will be declared as the joint winners of the world Test champions. The same rule applies if the game ends in a draw.
ICC WTC Final: Weather forecast for the WTC final?
The weather conditions for the ICC WTC Final look decent so far. There?s very less rain predicted during the period the game will be played. The first day of the match is expected to be cloudy but no rain is predicted on the opening day of the game.?
There are chances that Day 2 and Day 3 of the ICC WTC final might get marred by rain as little rain is expected. There are more chances of rain in the final two days. Throughout the game, the conditions are likely to be cloudy, which means pacers might come into play all five days.
