India's future of Cricket is in the safe hands as young players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan are charming above the entire team in the record win over England. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been England's absolute nightmare in the series as in just 6 innings, he has smashed two double-hundreds and a half-century. He has equaled the record of most sixes in a series with Wasim Akram after hitting 22 sixes and there are still 4 innings to come.
IND vs ENG 3rd Test Review
India and England were headed to Rajkot with an even scoreline after Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam for the third test. India winning the toss, opted to bat first. Raw pace from Mark Wood proved to be dangerous for India as he scalped Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill in back-to-back overs. Tom Hartley removed Patidar and India were 3 down for 33 runs.
Skipper Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja stitched a reviving partnership and pulled India out of the well. Rohit Sharma smashed his much-awaited century and so does Jadeja. Debutant Sarfaraz Khan was too good on the pitch and smashed the English bowler all around the park to reach his 50 in his debut. Dhruv Jurel and Ashwin also contributed with good runs and with 26 runs from Bumrah, India ended at 445 runs in the first innings.
England got a good flowing start and they started with some attacking intent. Ashwin drew the first blood and removed Crawley. Ben Duckett had some other plans but he wasn't getting enough support from the other end. Nevertheless, he scored a befitting 153 off 151 which took England to a respectable total even after the regular wickets. Mohammed Siraj was too good in the middle overs and took 4 wickets to conclude England's innings to 319 runs.
India had a lead of 126 runs after the first innings. The second innings of India started with Rohit Sharma taking on England but he missed on a sweep and Root got the first wicket of the innings. Jaiswal started the assault and Shubman held the second end and Jaiswal reached his century in no time. Gill got run out at 91 following a mix-up but Jaiswal was too good for England and scored his second test double hundred with 14 boundaries and 12 sixes.
Sarfraz Khan again smashed a quick half-century and just after that skipper Rohit Sharma decided to declare the innings and now India were 557 runs ahead of England and England had four and a half sessions to chase the target.
For the first time in the series, England's openers were looking very cautious but Ben Duckett got run out after a miscommunication. England lost their first wicket in 15 runs, second at 18 runs, third at 20, and fourth at 28 and the wickets kept falling. First Jadeja and then Kuldeep, the England batting was not ready for this collapse but it was meant to happen. Jadeja took a fifer at the end and India won the game by a huge total of 434 runs.
