Back-to-back falls of wickets and boundaries made things exciting at the end. Skipper Kane Williamson's ton counted on the winning purpose finally and New Zealand upsets Sri Lanka by 2 wickets.

This defeat of Sri Lanka ensures India's spot in the championship final. Now, India will square off against Australia in the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 starting 7 June 2023. The WTC final is set to be held at The Ovals, England at the neutral venue.
