Sri Lanka, batting first posted a total of 312 runs on the board and in response, Pakistan were 101 for 5 wickets. It was the time when it seemed that Sri Lanka had the match if they could all out Pak within the next session. But things turned around when Saud Shakeel posted a double hundred and gave Pakistan a healthy lead of 148 runs.
Lanka's third inning was not up to the standards and the Pakistani Bowling lineup wrapped them up in just 279 runs. Pakistan had a shaky start on Wednesday as they needed to chase down 131. Once again, Jayasuriya played a key role in the action as Sri Lanka took three early wickets. On Day 5, Pakistan had 83 to score, and Imam and Babar got off to a strong start. Due to the quick turn that was available, they lost a few wickets throughout the process, but Imam handled the situation like a veteran, struck a fifty, and led his team to victory alongside Agha Salman.
Pakistan won the match by 6 wickets and skipper Babar said "As a captain, I am impressed and happy with the performance." This victory put Pakistan in the joint top spot with 12 points and 100% percentage points in the WTC Points table.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, are placed at the 5th spot. In the last cycle of WTC, they finish 3rd in the Points Table and would definitely like to improve their game and position as well.
