ICC WTC Points Table [Updated] and India?s qualification scenario for the WTC final: The WTC points table has seen a significant alteration in recent weeks. India beat Bangladesh 0?2 at their home. Australia easily trounced South Africa in two Test matches, who were rated as a potent foe for them. England routed Pakistan 0-3 on Pakistan's soil, and New Zealand is now on tour in Pakistan, with the first test match being drawn.
New Zealand and Pakistan have been officially out of the World Test Championship (WTC) final. The objective for both teams would be to end the cycle on a high note. New Zealand is in eighth place, while Pakistan is in seventh.
After suffering a ruthless 2-0 humiliation to Australia, South Africa falls to fourth place in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Points Table. The Proteas were smashed by the strong Aussies by an innings and 182 runs in the second test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, continuing their unmatched supremacy at home.
With a 2-0 victory against Bangladesh to wrap up the calendar year 2022, coach Rahul Dravid's team will be aiming to carry that momentum into the Australia series at home. Australia is traveling to India for a 4-match red ball series starting 9th of February 2023.
Right now, only Australia is listed higher than India. Let's look over India's scenario for qualifying for the WTC 2021?23 final:
India?s qualification scenario for WTC final
1- India can not afford any loss from here onwards. If we do lose so not more than one.
2- If Australia beat South Africa 3?0, India would need to win the series against Australia by any margin.
3- If South Africa make a strong comeback beating the Aussies in the last test and defeating West Indies by 2-0 in their next series, then India must win by 3-1 or 3-0 Vs Australia.
