India were on a tour of South Africa where they won a historic ODI series by a 2-1 scoreline and then they were scheduled to play a two-match Test series. India lost the first test played from December 26 in just three days by an innings and 32 runs. As they lost the first Test, now they cannot win the series in South Africa but the least they can do is to draw the series.
The eyes will be all directed towards the playing 11 in the second test as Shardul Thakur and Avesh Khan are available and fit to be included in the squad.
While Pakistan, on the other hand, still waiting for their first test win in Australia. They had a chance on 29 December to make it happen but it wasn't meant to happen. Pakistan have lost the Test series already after lossing first two tests but they have a chance to put an end to the Australia jinx in test format.
Australia is having an incredible Test series, as they have made significant strides in the two matches against Pakistan. With 42 points and 50% PCT after the second test victory, Australia is now ranked third in the ICC WTC Points table 2023?25. They've played seven games and won four of them.
With 45.83% PCT, Pakistan, who were ranked second in the points table, is currently in fifth place. They have played four games in the current cycle thus far, winning two and losing two.
During the first test match against South Africa, India truly missed the middle-order contributions of Pujara and Rahane. After suffering their first defeat in a test match in the current ICC World Test Championship cycle, India, who were ranked first previously, are now sixth. They had three matches with a winning PCT of 38.89%. India has 14 points after one victory, one defeat, and one tie.
With a 100% winning record, South Africa, who was last on the list without having played a game, are currently at the top of the table. For passing the test and having 100% PCT, they received 12 points.
