IND vs AUS: Pat Cummins sends stern WARNING to Team India: The epic World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia is just one night away and the anticipation for the tournament is bigger than ever. The preparations are all done for Sunday's mouthwatering contest at the Narendra Modi Stadium as we see the biggest cricket spectacle at the biggest cricket ground.
However, hours ahead of the contest, Australian captain Pat Cummins has hurled a stern warning to Team India as the hosts look to end their decade-long trophy drought.
In the pre-match press conference held on the eve of the World Cup 2023 Final, Pat Cummins talked about the presence of the crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium, which will be mostly the sea of blue. As anticipated, approximately 1.3 Lakh people will be accommodated at the Narendra Modi Stadium for the final.
Cummins said there is nothing like silencing a packed crowd in a sport for a visiting team, referring to the sea of blue at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
"The crowd's obviously going to be very one-sided but it's also in sport there's nothing more satisfying than hearing a big crowd go silent and that's the aim for us tomorrow," said Pat Cummins, Australian captain.
"Yeah, you've just got to embrace every part of it, every part of a final even you know in the lead-up there's going to be noise and more people and interest and you just can't get overwhelmed. You got to be up for it, you got to love it and just know whatever happens it's fine but you just want to finish the day with no regrets," he added.
Cummins indicated dominating Team India at the Narendra Modi Stadium, which is a pretty huge statement. Given the track record of the Australian team, it's important for the Indian team to just not get too overwhelmed with their performance in the group stages.
Australia are famous for being the "King" in the knockout stages of the ICC tournament. They have been in the knockouts 17 times, so far, and out of those 12 appearances have ended with a win. Their win-loss ratio in the knockouts is the best among the current teams.
Moreover, Australia are on an eight-game winning streak in the ongoing World Cup 2023. After facing defeats in the first two games, the Kangaroos turned the table upside down and won games on the trott.
On the other side, though Team India hasn't had enough luck to their side in the ICC knockouts, their track record in the ICC tournaments has been clean. More often than not, India has managed to qualify for the semi-finals. In the ongoing World Cup 2023, India has been the only side to remain undefeated.
The last time India and Australia met, the Men in Blue defeated the Kangaroos at the MA Chidambaram Stadium by six wickets.
