IND vs BAN: Watch India get 5 penalty runs as Bangladesh makes error in the field on day two: In an unusual incident in test cricket, team India was rewarded with 5 penalty runs after the ball hit the helmet placed behind the wicketkeeper on day two of ongoing India vs Bangladesh 1st test. The rare event happened during the 112th over of India?s innings on Thursday.
Team India continued its innings from the overnight score of 278 runs in the loss of 6 wickets on Thursday. While Shreyas Iyer got dismissed soon after the start of the innings on day two, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav stitched a fruitful partnership to add quick runs toward the end of the innings.
The incident happened in the 112th over which was bowled by Taijul Islam. In the second delivery of the over, Ashwin edged the ball which went past the first slip towards the third-man area. The fielder installed at the third man region collected the ball and threw it towards the wicketkeeper, which hit one of the two helmets placed on the ground. As a result, the umpires awarded five penalty runs to the Indian team.

Meanwhile, at the stumps on day two of the IND vs BAN test, the visitors have reduced the Bangladeshi innings to 133 runs in the loss of eight wickets. None of the batters from the home side could cross 30 run mark as Indian bowlers rattled through the batting unit.
The destruction was begun by Mohammad Siraj, who scalped a wicket on the first ball of the innings. He then went on to pick two more wickets. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav scalped four wickets and veteran pacer Umesh Yadav got one in his bag.
Earlier in the day, healthy contributions from the Indian tale enders aided team India to put up a total of 404 runs before getting wrapped. R Ashwin completed his 13th test half-century while Kuldeep Yadav added 40 runs to the total on day two.
As of now, Bangladesh trails by 271 runs and have just two wickets in hand. There is a good chance for India to enforce a follow-on, should the Indians pack Bangladesh?s innings quickly on day three without giving away too many runs.
