IND vs ENG 2nd Test: Day 1 Stumps, India at 336/6, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 179* (257) | India vs England 2nd Test 2024 Live:?India is playing the second test match against England at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, they played good cricket on Day 1 however, England could perform better. Indian Batter Yashasvi Jaiswal played phenomenal cricket in the first inning and stood till last as he scored 168 runs in 250 balls.
The Indian Team batted first in the second test match in Visakhapatnam and they dominated England in all three seasons. All credit goes to youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal, who stood from one end and kept making small partnership with every batter therefore India scored 336 runs on the scoreboard. Skipper Rohit Sharma again failed to play a big inning in the second test.
England played decent cricket in the test match on Day 1 however, they got a couple of wickets but England might perform better. Spinners took more wickets than Pacers on Day 1, however, they failed to get the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal, who played a superb inning in Visakhapatnam.
IND vs ENG 2nd Test Day 1 Match Summary:
India won the toss and they batted first and played excellent cricket in the starting 10 overs but then, Skipper Rohit Sharma got out by scoring just 14 runs in 41 balls. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal was playing good cricket and scoring runs with a decent run rate from the other end.
Although wickets were falling from the other end, small partnerships were made with Yashasvi Jaiswal, which led the Indian Team to a good position. Yashasvi stood till last and helped his team to have decent runs on the scoreboard. In the end, India scored 336 runs in 93 overs and Yashasvi Jaiswal played a fantastic inning of 179 runs in 257 balls with 17 fours and 5 sixes.
From England's Bowling Department, Spinners dominated more than the Pacers on Day 1 in Visakhapatnam. Shoaib Bashir and Rehan Ahmed took two wickets each whereas Tom Hartley and Star Pacer James Anderson got only one wicket each. They could perform better cricket as wickets were falling from one end but Yashasvi's excellent temperament led the Indian Team to a strong position.
