IND vs ENG: India and England are currently taking on each other in a five-match Test series. The first two tests have already been completed, with the Three Lions claiming a dominant victory in the first test in Hyderabad. In reply, hosts Rohit Sharma and his men bounced back in pretty good fashion, securing an emphatic 106-run victory in the second Test in Visakhapatnam.
The upcoming 3rd Test, which is set to take place at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, is set to start on February 15th. It is anticipated that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may announce the Men in Blues squad for the remaining three Tests today.
Ahead of India's squad announcement for the remaining three Test matches against England, let's have a look at the players who are likely to miss the remaining three Test matches against England.
Virat Kohli:?India 's Start Batsman Virat Kohli missed the first two matches of the five-match Test series against England due to family reasons. Kohli's close friend and former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) player, AB de Villiers, revealed that Virat and Anushka are expecting their second child, thereby casting doubts on Virat's return for the remaining three Test matches against England.
Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja:?According to multiple news reports, All-Rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Fast Bowler are going to miss the remaining three matches of the five-match Test Series between India and England as both of them have not managed to recover from the injuries they suffered. Their absence is not good news for the Men in Blue, as both Shami and Jadeja have played a huge role in India's success in the longest format of the game.
Jasprit Bumrah:?Jasprit Bumrah has been constantly playing cricket since the South Africa series, and keeping the 2024 T20 World Cup in mind, the Indian management is likely to give some much-needed rest to their best fast bowler, Bumrah, for the upcoming third Test match in Rajkot.
There's some good news for the hosts as star wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul, who missed the second Test match due to an injury he suffered in the Hyderabad test, is likely to return to full-match fitness in time for the 3rd Test in Rajkot, starting on February 15th. If the LSG Skipper recovers in time, he's almost certain to return to the playing 11. His return means that Shreyas Iyer is likely to get benched for the third test match against England.
India's Predicted Squad for the Rajkot Test
Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KS Bharat (WK), Kuldeep Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar, Saurabh Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, and KL Rahul.
