IND vs ENG: Rohit Sharma shatters five massive records after win over New Zealand in ICC World Cup 2023

IND vs ENG: Team India overcame the Kiwi challenge finally as they thumped New Zealand by 4 wickets in the ICC World Cup 2023. They registered their fifth consecutive win of the tournament as they batted and bowled magnificently well and for the first time since 2003, they defeated them. The focus will next be on defending champions England which will take place on Sunday (29th October).?

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was yet again the shining light for his team. He upped the ante with both his leadership as well as the batting and made sure that his team thumped New Zealand. The opening batter made some tactical changes on the field and made sure that his side kept coming back.?

While his captaincy was for everyone to laud, his batting exploits set the stage on fire. Rohit Sharma yet again came out all guns blazing and smashed bowled all over the park. His staggering batting saw India getting off the flyer in their chase of 274 runs. 

Rohit Sharma took the attack to bowlers and smashed 46 runs giving his team a fiery start. The opening batter smashed 4 fours and 4 sixes in his innings. It?s fair to say that his knock helped India win the game. After he got out, Virat Kohli took the onus to himself.?

The premier batter continued from where he left off in Pune and played another blinder of an innings. Even though wickets kept falling at the other end, he held the fort and made sure he saw his team through and helped them register 5th win of the tournament. 

Virat Kohli ended with a knock of 95 runs as India completed a comfortable 4-wicket win against New Zealand. Apart from him, Shubman Gill (26), Shreyas Iyer (33), KL Rahul (27) and Ravindra Jadeja (39*) also chipped in.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma shattered quite a few records after the game against New Zealand. He became the first Indian skipper to win a match against Kiwis in ICC tournaments after 20 years.?

He also became the first Indian to complete 50 sixes in a calendar year in ODI. Rohit Sharma currently has 51 sixes and with the way he?s batting, the number is expected to rise.  He also became the first player in 2023 to go past 50 sixes. 

Rohit Sharma also has sixes for India in World Cup history. He also became the first player to cross the 300-run mark in the ICC World Cup 2023.
