IND vs PAK to be held in Chennai during ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and International Cricket Council (ICC) are the last stages of finalising the schedule for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The two cricket bodies are working closely to ensure that the fixtures are out as soon as possible.

As per the reports, BCCI office bearers will meet the ICC officials on Sunday and then the schedule will be announced.

?We are meeting ICC officials tomorrow to discuss the fine prints of the schedule. Once that?s done, we will have it for you. By Monday, we should have the final schedule,??a senior BCCI official told.

Meanwhile, in another development, IND vs PAK contest in the Cricket World Cup 2023 is likely to be held at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium, following PCB's protest of not playing in the Ahmedabad.

The high-voltage IND vs PAK fixture was earlier scheduled to be staged at the Narendra Modi Stadium on 15th October.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi, previously, conveyed to his ICC counterparts that his team won't play the most anticipated IND vs PAK fixture at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He further said that unless it is a knockout match, Pakistan will refrain engaging at the aforementioned venue.

?Sethi has conveyed to ICC officials, Barclay and Allardice that Pakistan doesn?t want its matches in Ahmedabad unless it is a knock-out game like final. He requested ICC to schedule their games in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata if the national team gets clearance from the Pakistan government,? the PCB source told.

Earlier, PCB wanted ICC to adopt a hybrid model to conduct the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, whereby, Pakistan would play all of its games outside the territory of India while the remaining fixtures of the tournament will be staged in India.

However, PCB's demand seems to have been refused by the apex cricket body and the marquee event will go as planned in India itself.

ICC CEO Geoff Allardice, a couple of days ago, confirmed that the experts are working on the fixtures of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and it will be out as soon as possible.

?I think even today (Wednesday) we might be receiving the schedule from the hosts [India], and we?ve just got a bit of consultation to do with all the participating teams and the broadcasters,? said ICC CEO Geoff Allardice. ?Then we?ll be publishing that as soon as we possibly can.?
