IND vs PAK: Trouble for Pakistan as Naseem Shah gets injured during Asia Cup 2023 PAK vs BAN clash: In a very troubling development for Pakistan ahead of their crucial IND vs PAK clash on September 10, young left-arm pacer Naseem Shah has coped with a blow on his shoulders during the ongoing Pakistan vs Bangladesh clash in Lahore.
Naseem Shah looked sharp with his executions during the first spell and accounted for the first breakthrough against Bangladesh. He got rid of all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz for a duck with a pretty soft dismissal.
The incident took place in the second delivery of the sixth over being bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi. The delivery was directed onto the pads, which went to fine leg where Naseem Shah was stationed. Shah took a slide to his left to stop the ball from touching the boundary rope, however, he was unsuccessful.
As the first impression of the slide, Naseem looked fine, but unfortunately, he didn't move for a while and was soon attended by the physio. The pacer was in pain and was taken off the field to receive careful medical attention for his injured shoulder.
The left-arm seamer bowled four overs in his first spell and got off the field eventually following that threatening slide. But fortunately, he returned in the seventeenth over and cracked 140 kmph deliveries straight away.
Pakistan escape Naseem Shah headache ahead of IND vs PAK clash
Had Naseem Shah suffered a major blow, then it could have led to trouble in the Pakistani camp for further assignments in the Asia Cup 2023. Shah is a key figure which makes Pakistan's pace bowling unit a formidable one when paired alongside Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf.
He was in a fine rhythm in his first spell against Bangladesh in the ongoing match. The southpaw immediately created an impact with his bowling.
His injury could have turned into a nightmare for Pakistan as they aim to get crowned as Asia Cup 2023 champions and pose themselves as a serious threat in the impending ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Below is Pakistan's Playing11 against Bangladesh:
Playing11: Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam(c), Mohammad Rizwan(w), Agha Salman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf
