IND vs WI: India team suffered a disappointing 2-wicket defeat in the second T20I against West Indies, which saw them going 2-0 down in the five-match series. It?s fair to say that the Hardik Pandya-led side was poor with bat and ball and failed to handle the pressure situations.
Opting to bat first, India had a poor start with the bat as they lost Shubman Gill (7) and Suryakumar Yadav (1) inside the powerplay. Ishan Kishan struggled to get going as well but managed 27 runs. Young Tilak Varma was the hero yet again for the team as he smashed a vital half-century and ended with the knock of 51 runs.
Skipper Hardik Pandya scored 24 runs down the order and whereas vital contributions from Axar Patel (14) Ravi Bishnoi (8) and Arshdeep Singh (6) powered India to a total of 152 runs, which at one stage didn?t look possible.
With the ball, India had a great start as skipper Pandya removed two wickets in the first over but after that, Nicholas Pooran struck a magnificent half-century and took the game away from India. Yuzvendra Chahal brought India back in the game in the 16th over, which saw three wickets felling down.

But the captain didn?t leg-spinner after his staggering over and brought his pacers back into the attack. The move didn?t pay off as West Indies bowlers held their nerves better and played exceptionally well to win the game by the margin of 2 wickets and take a 2-0 lead in the series.
With the loss in the second game, India achieved an unwanted feat to their name as for the first time ever Team India lost 2 back-to-back T20I matches against West Indies in Bilateral series since 2011. Notably, they suffered a 4-run loss in the first IND vs WI game in Trinidad.
IND vs WI: That was a not a pleasing batting performance - Hardik Pandya after loss in 2nd T20I
IND vs WI: Indian skipper Hardik Pandya while talking about the loss in the second IND vs WI game said that it was a disappointing batting performance from their end. He added they they need to find ways to make sure that they find the right balance. He explained:
?If am being honest that was a not a pleasing batting performance, we could have batted better. 160+ or 170 would have been a good total. The way he has been batting, becomes very difficult to rotate spinners. 2/2 and the way he batted, took the game quite into their hands.
?With the current combination we have we will have to trust out top 7 batters to come good and hope the bowlers win you games. We have to find ways to make sure we have the right balance but at the same time batters need to take more responsibility.?
The third IND vs WI T20I will be played on Tuesday (8th August) at the same venue. India would be hoping to make a strong comeback. A loss for them means they will end up losing the series.
