IND vs WI: Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal broke a massive long-time record of captain Rohit Sharma in the T20Is. He became the youngest Indian batter to hit a half-century in the shortest format of the game as he achieved the feat in 21 years.
Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved the milestone in the recently concluded fourth T20I against West Indies in Florida. The batter, who made his debut in the third game, made sure that he take the world cricket by storm in his second T20I game.
Yashasvi Jaiswal played a staggering knock of unbeaten 84 runs in a game which was a virtual series decider for Team India. The opening batter smashed 11 boundaries and three sixes in 51 balls he faced. He also stitched 165 runs opening partnership with Shubman Gill (79) and helped his side win.
Yashasvi Jaiswal became the young Indian opener to smash a half-century as he surpassed Rohit Sharma, who hit a half-century at 22 years against England in 2009. It was the innings of the highest class from him and it’s fair to say that if he continues to bat this way, he’ll be there for a long time.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s (21y 227d)half-century also saw him becoming the fourth youngest player to smash a half-century for India overall in T20Is. He joined the likes of Rohit Sharma (20yr 143d), Tilak Varma (20yr 271d) and Rishabh Pant (21yr 38d).
