The women’s teams of India and South Africa are set to lock horns against each other in a multi-format bilateral series. All matches will take place in India and this bilateral event will kick off with the three-match One Day International series, followed by a single test match and three T20 International games. The One Day International series will begin from 16th June, Sunday and will conclude on 23rd June, Sunday.
The ODI series will feature three matches and all of these games will take place at Bengaluru’s iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium. This One-Day International series between India and South Africa is a part of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Women’s Championship 2022-25. As a result, both sides will be looking to perform at their best level and gain some crucial championship points.
Harmanpreet Kaur will once again be seen leading the Women in Blue while Laura Wolvaardt will be leading the Proteas in the 50-over series.
Earlier this year, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team didn’t perform well against Australia as they lost both the T20i and ODI series but following that defeat, they bounced back in an impressive fashion with a 5-0 away T20 International series win against Bangladesh. The Women in Blue would be looking to carry forward their winning momentum in the upcoming series against South Africa.
The Proteas on the other hand would like to get back to winning ways. They lost the three match T20 International series against Sri Lanka by a margin of 1-2 and drew the One Day International series 1-1. Laura Wolvaardt and her girls would like to change their fortunes against the Indians and secure some major momentum boost ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
