A total of 79 overs were bowled in the first day's play in which India C scored 357 runs at the loss of five wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad Lead India C's performance on the first day was excellent, the team scored 357 runs at the loss of only five wickets in 79 overs. Ishan Kishan, who was playing cricket after a long time, made a commendable comeback, he scored 111 runs in 126 balls with the help of 14 fours and three sixes. Chennai's wicketkeeper batsman Baba Indrajith scored 78 runs in 136 balls with the help of nine fours.
