India Secures Dominant 2-0 Series Win Over Bangladesh: Updated ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Points Table

The Indian team's dominance continues in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 ??cycle. The Indian team sealed the two-match Test series against Bangladesh 2-0 and strengthened its position in the points table. After the Kanpur Test win, the Indian team remains in the first position with a PCT of 74.24 and 98 points, while Australia is in the second position with 90 points and a PCT of 62.50.

The second match of the India vs Bangladesh Test series was being played in Kanpur where the game was interrupted due to wet outfield on the first three days of the match, however even after this Rohit Sharma and company won the match. Bangladesh was all out for 233 runs in the first innings and 146 runs in the second innings. In reply, the Indian team declared the innings for 285 runs in 34.4 overs in the first innings and won the match by achieving the target of 95 runs in just 17.2 overs in the second innings.

In the first innings, Mominul Haque played an unbeaten innings of 107 runs for Bangladesh. In the bowling department, Bumrah took three wickets, Siraj, Ashwin and Akash Deep took two wickets each, while Jadeja took one wicket.
Yashasvi Jaiswal's excellent performance in batting is continuing, Jaiswal scored 72 runs in 51 balls with the help of 12 fours and two sixes in the first innings, while in the second innings he scored a half-century of 51 runs in just 45 balls. Apart from him, Virat Kohli scored 47 runs in the first innings, while KL Rahul scored 68 runs in just 43 balls. Kohli remained unbeaten on 29 runs in the second innings.
Ravichandran Ashwin managed to take three wickets in the second innings, in this two-match series he took a total of 11 wickets and scored a century for which he received the Player of the Series award, Ashwin equaled Muttiah Muralitharan's record for most Player of the Series in Tests, Muralitharan has won the Player of the Series award 11 times in a total of 60 series whereas Ashwin achieved this record in just 39 series.
