India tour of Ireland: Former team India spinner Harbhajan Singh has expressed his excitement as team India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is set to make his international comeback with the upcoming Ireland series. Harbhajan Singh was delighted to see Bumrah back in the Indian squad, following a long hiatus due to injury.

Notably, last night, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced India's squad for the Ireland tour, which comprise three T20Is. The 15-men Indian team for the Ireland tour will be led by Jasprit Bumrah and surprisingly, Ruturaj Gaikwad will assume the deputy's role.

Speedster Jasprit Bumrah will be back in India's colours after a long injury break. He last played an international game in August 2022 against Zimbabwe post which he suffered a back injury.

"Jasprit Bumrah has made a comeback. He was injured for a long time and his return was awaited. He has come back and has been made the captain straightaway. Congratulations to Jassi for becoming the captain and foremost for getting fit. I hope and keep my fingers crossed that Jassi doesn't get injured again," Harbhajan said in a video shared on his YouTube channel.

He further mentioned that team India had missed Jasprit Bumrah dearly in the past. India felt the need for Jasprit Burmah during the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia.

"He has been missed a lot, whether you see the WTC final or the cricket that was played before that. I used to say earlier and am saying it today as well that if we talk about batting, we talk about Virat Kohli, and if there is a Virat Kohli of bowling, it is Jasprit Bumrah. There is no bigger name than him," Harbhajan added.

The India tour of Ireland will begin on August 18 in Dublin. Team India and Ireland will engage in the three-match T20I series, the first one of which will be played out on August 18. The last two games of the series will be held on August 20 and 23 respectively.
