India vs Bangladesh: 3 Indian Players who might not feature feature in the third T20i versus Bangladesh: On Saturday, 12th of October, Team India will square off against Bangladesh in the third and final T20 International match of the ongoing three-match T20 International series at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium of Hyderabad.

Captained by Suryakumar Yadav, the Men in Blue have been nothing but sensational in the series, securing two successive comfortable wins. After securing a win by seven wickets in the opening encounter, the home side humiliated the Tigers in the second contest as they defeated them by a margin of 86 runs in the city of Delhi and clinched the three-match T20 International series.

However, despite winning two-back-to-back matches, the Indian Cricket Team might look to drop a few players from their Starting XI for the third T20 International. So, as both the sides prepare to take on each other for one last time in this series, let’s take a look at three Indian players who might not get a chance to play in Hyderabad.

3 Indian player who might not get a chance to play in the third T20 International versus Bangladesh

  1. Varun Chakaravarthy

Varun Chakaravarthy has made a memorable and remarkable comeback to his International Career. The leg-spinner, who was not even considered for selection following his horrible outing in the 2021 T20 World Cup, received an International call-up after a span of three years.

Seizing the chance with both hands, he used his cunning variations in the middle-overs to completely destroy Bangladesh.

After picking up an outstanding three-wicket-haul in the first T20 International, Varun worked his magic, ending the game with amazing figures of 2-19 next to his name.

So, considering that the Suryakumar Yadav-led team have already clinched the series, they might think of giving some rest to Varun and bring in another talented leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi in his place, who is eager to perform well and impress the team’s management.

2. Mayank Yadav

Indian Cricket Team’s latest fast bowling wonderkid Mayank Yadav has had an amazing start to his T20 International career as he has performed admirably in the Bangladesh T20I series. Suryakumar Yadav has effectively employed him as a middle-overs-enforcer, with the fast bowler terrorising the Tigers with his sheer speed and variations.

However, India needs to carefully control Mayank’s workload given that he is a rare talent and has just recovered from a back injury. As the Men in Blue have already sealed the three-match series, they might consider giving some rest to the young speedster and replace him with another fast-bowling wonderkid Harshit Rana for this forthcoming encounter.

  1. Sanju Samson

The experienced wicket-keeper batsman from Kerala, Sanju Samson, failed to capitalise on yet another opportunity to seal his spot in Team India’s T20 International squad. Despite the 2024 T20 World Cup winners playing on excellent batting surfaces, Samson failed to live upto expectations as he underperformed with the bat in the first two matches of the series.

The absence of the duo of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave the Rajasthan Royals skipper a golden chance to open the innings and become a regular in Team India’s setup in the shortest format of the game. But, the 29-year-old couldn’t do much, scoring just 38 runs in the first two encounters.

Although the lack of a regular opening batter in the Men in Blue’s squad might allow Sanju to retain his spot, eyebrows won’t be raised if the team-management decide to replace Samson with hard-Hitting batter Tilak Verma.

The Mumbai Indians batter is a proven performer and he can open the batting if required. Plus he can also roll his arm over with his part time off-spin bowling.

But, if the Men in Blue want to replace Samson with Tilak, then they must drop a middle-order batsman to allow Jitesh Sharma play as the wicket-keeper batsman.
