India vs England: As long as Rishabh gets the job done, it?s fine: Rohit Sharma.
India vs England: Indian senior opener Rohit Sharma in the press conference says Rishabh Pant has the backing of Indian management for his style of attacking batting as long as he gets the job done for the side. He also urged the fans to comment sensibly during the odd failures.
The left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman composed a tremendous hundred and put India to a driver?s seat in the fourth Test match against England.
?Pant has his own style of batting. Obviously there have been messages, as to how he needs to approach his innings. He seems to be batting in his own style which is great from our perspective as well, because he seems to be getting the job done, which is more important,? Rohit said at the post-match press conference.
Rohit Sharma understands the situation well which Pant has been through in the past after all those criticism as he too has his shares of failure after getting the tag of a talented player.
Sharma added that the team needed a variety of players to create a balance.
?You should have a mix of players in your squad. There would be a few guys who would play respectfully, then you need someone who will take those chances, be courageous, which is absolutely fine for team management as long as he gets the job done,? said the India white ball vice-captain.
Sharma urges the peoples not to quibble about some off dismissals and failures.
?There will be times when Rishabh Pant will trust his instincts and take those chances and get out. I want all the peoples not to knit pick his failures rather support him. He will surely produce one or two such disastrous innings more often.?
Rohit Sharma who himself was promoted by MS Dhoni to open the innings knows the idea behind playing freely and playing with tons of pressure in your head.
?People like Pant will have to back their ability and in the end, they will need the backing of the management. And Pant is getting all those. If he will play with all freedom, he will be able to express himself much better and I know the need of playing without any second thought.?
