India vs England: MA Chidambaram to open three stands for spectators for the 2nd test.
India vs England: The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) has decided to open its three stands - I, J and K for the spectators for the second Test game against England. It will be the first time since 2012 that these stands will be set open for the registration in an international game.
The second test between India and England will begin on February 13th.
The three aforementioned stands at Chepauk were forcefully sealed due to the various issues. The ground has not opened the three stands after the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup due to deprived city?s opportunity from various events like IPL 2019 final and World T20 games.
The mentioned stands were opened for the game between India and Pakistan in 2012 only after making several exceptions.
The tickets for the second Test between India and England will be up for grab 09th February onwards. The game will be held from 13 to 17 February.
15,000 tickets will be sold for the second game and all the sales will be done online, TNCA secretary R S Ramasaamy said.
The cleaning work was being done in the stands and the secretary of TNCA added that all these will be done by the start of the second game.
The ongoing first test game is played with no crowd behind the closed doors.
For the second test, media will also be allowed to do reporting which was earlier barred from the stadium.
All the three stands collectively consist of 12,000 seats and each stand has 4,00 seating capacity.
In addition, the fans will be allowed in the last two test games also. As per the reports, the senior government officials will be present at the stadium during the first day of the third Test at Ahmedabad.
India vs England 3rd Test will be the first international game for Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad after the refurbishment of the stadium.
