As we were informed that on the India tour of Zimbabwe, Shikhar Dhawan was set to lead the Indian side, now KL Rahul has been drafted into the squad of 16 players and will lead the Indian Camp onwards with Shikhar Dhawan as vice-captain. Initially, he was not part of the Indian squad of 15 players, but he was added to the side on Thursday after he passed fit.
BCCI's medical team has given the green signal after which he was included in the Indian camp. Last week, Rahul was named to India's squad for Asia cup 2022 which is going to be held in UAE from the 27th of august.
In mid-July, Rahul is believed to be in contact with CoVid-19 virus so he was on a two-week post-CoVid recovery routine. Rahul has had to pass a mandatory cardiac test (cardiovascular test) after which he has gradually intensified his training routine. According to some sources, he has already started batting and training stuff over the past week.
Rahul played his last match in IPL 2022, after which he suffered from a sports hernia.
Now his name is there to lead the Indian Team in the upcoming three ODIs against Zimbabwe between 18 to 22 August.
