India11 vs World11 cricket match to celebrate 75 years of Independence: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has received a proposal from the Indian government to organise a friendly cricket match comprising top Indian players and prominent cricket personalities from all around the globe. The sources confirm that the move has been taken to celebrate India?s 75 years of Independence under the campaign "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav".
A BCCI official confirmed that they have received the proposal from the Ministry of Culture to organise a cricket match. As of now, the proposal is being discussed between government officials and the BCCI as roping-in overseas players involves a lot of operational and logistics requirements. The match, if conducted, will be held on August 22.
"We [BCCI] have received a proposal from the government to organise a cricket match between India XI and World XI on August 22. For a rest of the world squad, we would need at least 13-14 international players and their availability is something that we need to check on,? a BCCI source said.
Notably, during that time, England?s domestic tournament would begin and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is also slated to be held, so for the BCCI, it would be crucial to check the availability of top players of cricket.

The BCCI officials are currently in England to attend ICC?s annual conference (July 22-26) where they would discuss with their overseas counterparts to release a few players for a match in India.
On August 20, India?s tour of Zimbabwe would end and the players involved in that series may not participate in the game. However, the top Indian players such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant will be available for the friendly fixture as they are unlikely to tour Zimbabwe.
If the match IndiaXI vs World XI, in all its likelihood, will be held in Delhi?s Arun Jaitley Stadium.
