India’s squad for the Bangladesh T20i’s: Varun Chakaravarthy back, Mayank Yadav gets maiden call-up: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced the Indian Cricket Team’s squad for the forthcoming three-match T20 International Series versus Bangladesh starting from 6th October onwards.

Stand-in-skipper Suryakumar Yadav will be captaining a new-look Indian Squad versus Bangladesh. The last series in which SKY led the Indian team was in last year’s T20 International series versus South Africa, where the series ended in a 1-1 draw.

IPL sensation Mayank Yadav, who bowled in excess of 150 km/h during IPL 2024 for the Lucknow Super Giants, is a part of the squad and he has been handed his maiden call-up.

Along with Yadav, 21-year-old fast-bowling All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy and seamer Harshit Rana have been included in the squad as well.

The latter was set to make his debut in the T20 International series versus Zimbabwe but an injury prevented him from making his India debut in that series. But, now he’s fully fit and he will be looking to wear the blue jersey for the first time.

The duo of Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma have been selected as the wicket-keeping options. Sanju is likely to get the nod over Sharma in the playing XI.

Leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi and spin-bowling All-rounder Washington Sundar are the spinners while Varun Chakaravarthy has made a comeback to the Men in Blue squad after a span of three-years.

The duo of Abhishek Sharma and Riyan Parag will also be looking to roll their arms over if required.

Indian Cricket Team’s squad for the three-match Bangladesh T20 International series:

Sanju Samson (WK), Abhishek Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Mayank Yadav, Shivam Dube, Varun Chakaravarthy, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi.
