India's squad for the T20 series against Zimbabwe announced, Shubman Gill set to lead the team

India vs Zimbabwe: India?s Cricket Governing Body, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian Cricket Team?s squad for the upcoming T20 International series against Zimbabwe. The squad comprises of youngsters and all the senior players have been rested for the tour of Zimbabwe. Opener Shubman Gill will be seen handling the leadership duties of the Men in Blue in the absence of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya.
Currently, Rohit Sharma and his men are participating in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and post the conclusion of the world cup, India will travel to Zimbabwe for the bilateral T20 International assignment.
The series will consist of five matches with the first game set to take place on 6th of July. The remaining matches will take place on 7th,10th,13th and 14th of July respectively. All of these encounters will be played at the Harare Sports Club Stadium of Harare.
The likes of Abhishek Sharma, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, Tushar Deshpande and Nitish Reddy performed well in IPL 2024 and have been rewarded for those performances as they been selected in the squad for the Zimbabwe series and they will be looking to prove their worth by performing well in the upcoming series.
India?s squad for the T20i series against Zimbabwe: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill (Captain), Abhishek Sharma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rinku Singh, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag, Nitish Reddy, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, Tushar Deshpande and Mukesh Kumar.
