Rohit Sharma and Team India are surely feeling the pressure as they will head into the fourth test. The Boxing Day Test will begin on December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium. Jasprit Bumrah led India to an incredible win in the opening test in Perth in the absence of Rohit Sharma.

But after that, India had a miserable performance in the next two games. The series is evenly poised at 1-1, with both teams eyeing a win in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. India are practicing hard to get back to winning ways. The biggest concern for the visitors is the batting form of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

India needs their big guns to fire that can help the team to reach a better position. However, ahead of the Boxing Day Test, India suffered a big blow as the Indian captain got hit while practicing at the nets. The Indian captain was hit on his left knee.

The Indian captain has faced criticism for his poor form and captaincy. He has given his opening slot to KL Rahul, and he himself is batting in the middle order. But it hasn't helped him much. And now just four days ahead of the fourth test, India had an injury scare as the captain sustained an injury to his left knee.

As per reports, Rohit was taking throwdowns at the nets when the ball went past his pad and hit his left knee. The Indian captain was in pain and was seen applying the ice pack on his knee. He was in discomfort and left the practice session. However, the Indian pacer Akash Deep confirmed that there was nothing to worry about and such blows are common.

He said, "Such blows are common when you play cricket. I think this wicket was prepared for a white ball, which is why the ball stayed low. But these blows are common." India need the captain if they want to retain the BGT trophy. After continuing failure, Rohit will be eager to make some runs for the team.

Former Australian captain Michael Clarke predicted a big century from the Indian captain during a podcast. The batting conditions at MCG will be better. That's where the Indian captain can look to get back to his form. India need to win both games to qualify for the World Test Championship final and also to win the BGT trophy. Notably, India have won the last four consecutive BGT trophies.
