IPL 2020 UAE: Analysis of the IPL Teams That Will Be Pitting Against Each Other

To begin with UAE is not home ground and hence becomes a neutral venue for all teams. None of the teams are very familiar with it?s pitches. UAE crickets grounds are famous for being bigger and have spinner friendly pitches. There is not much bounce in it nor much pace. Moreover the dry pitches of UAE will make for high scoring matches as it is favourable to batsmen.

Spinners and medium pacers will have a good bowling spree on these pitches. Spinners could lead the attack and medium pacers pitching at the right spot could prove beneficial. That?s good news for teams that have invested in spinners and medium pacers. Also teams having allrounders are at an advantage. Power batting would be required to cover these huge grounds. These UAE pitches will require good technique in players and hence the best team with good technique will shine.

We have analysed all the teams keeping in mind the above-mentioned points and we have come up with a list of teams that we feel have an upper edge over some teams( that are not well equipped to meet the challenge). Here they are :

1. Chennai Super Kings

CSK has batsmen like M.S.Dhoni, Rayadu, Murali Vijay, Kedar Jadav  and Suresh Raina. With formidable bowlers like Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir, Piyush Chawla, Shardul Thakur and allrounder Ravidra Jadeja, CSK is a top class team.

2. Delhi Capitals

DC has batsmen like Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Rishab Pant and bowlers like Ishanth Sharma, Mohith Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin , Amit Mishra and Sandeep Lamichhane places them among the top favourable teams.

3. Kings XI Punjab

KXIP has batsmen like K.L.Rahul, Mayank Aggarwal, Mandeep Singh, Karun Nair, Sarfaraz Khan alongside bowlers like Mohhamad Shami and allrounder Krishnappa Gowtham helps them stay among the top teams

Mumbai Indians

MI has batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Ishant Kishan, Surya Kumar Yadav accompanied by bowlers like J.Bumrah, D.Kulkarni, Rahul Chahar and allrounders Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Jayanth Yadav give them enough scope to climb up the rankings ladder.

Royal Challengers

RCB has batsmen has V.Kohli, Partiv Patel, Shahbaz Ahmad, Gurukreet Manas with  bowlers like Umesh Yadav, Yuzavendra Chahal, Navadeep Saina, Mohammad Siraj have to show up and perform in order to pull this team up.

Kolkotta Knight

KKR has batsmen like Dinesh Karthik, Shubham Gill, Nitesh Rana, Rahul Tripathi And bowlers like Kuldip Yadav, Pravin Thambe, Shivam Mavi, Varun Chakravarty and allrounders---NIL. So we have to wait for the matches to begin to see what they have up their sleeves.

Rajasthan Royals

RR, the team from the pink city, donned in pink uniforms has batsmen like Sanju Samson, Manan Vohra, Robin Uttappa and bowlers like Varon Arun, Jadav Unadkat, Mayank Markande, with allrounders?NIL. Again we must await the commencement of the matches to see tables turn!

Sunrisers Hyderabad

SRH has batsmen W.Saha, Manish Pandey, Abhishek Sharma and bowlers like Bhuvuneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Shahbaz Nadeem ,Khaleel Ahmed, Basi Thampi, Sandeep Sharma and allrounder Vijay Shanker.

Criteria to be kept in mind are

1. Dry pitches in UAE
2. Pitches will be batting favourable wickets.
3. Spinners will be very effective,next the medium pacers and lastly the pace bowlers.The team with more spinners and medium pacers are at an advantage.
4. As 4 overseas players are allowed in a team,mostly 2 batsmen and 2 bowlers.The rest of the team is made of Indian squad 7 players,2 batsmen,Captain,Wicket keeper and 3 bowlers.Exception being a captain or wicket keeper being overseas player
5. Hence the teams having top Indian players as 4 to 6, bowlers  and batsmen in a team will have an advantage,as the players can get enough rest in between matches.
6. The teams having talented young players have an advantage as atleast 3 youngsters  will be given a chance to play every match.
7. The teams having more Indian alrounders are at an advantage.
8. The team having 2 very good wicket keepers has an advantage when the main wicket keeper is being rested or injured

Expected winning chances

 Accordingly the expected winning chances of teams are

1. Chennai Super Kings
2. Delhi Capitals.
3. Kings XI Punjab
4. Mumbai Indians
5. Royal Challengers,Bangalore.
6. Kolkata Knight Riders.
7. Rajasthan Royals
8. Sunrisers Hyderabad

The overseas players of all teams are among the best in the world hence this factor is nearly neutral.

All other positions are clear except  the 7 and 8 position between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad . Sunrisers have a very good bowlers but Rajanthan have Stokes,Steve Smith ,J.Archer ,best players in the world in their team and Sunrisers have D.Warner,K.Williamson,and J.Bairstow.Equally balanced teams but difficult to predict who will perform well.

The latest news is that W.I players will not play a few matches initially because of their commitment for CPL and few other players S.Smith,D.Warner will miss first few matches. But finally results wlll depend on the player's performance on that day which is unpredictable.
