IPL 2022, LSG VS GT, Lucknow Batting Innings:
The toss was won by the men from West India. Gujarat opted to bowl first keeping the dew in mind. The thing that raised eyebrows was the fact that Lucknow entered the game with 3 overseas players only. Mohammad Shami gave a rocking start to the Gujarat Titans. He took a wicket off the first ball of the innings. KL Rahul was out for a duck on the first delivery of the game. Next to walk back was Quinny. Shami rattled his stumps as well. Before things got together a screamer from Shubman Gill sent Ewin Lewis back to the pavilion. Lucknow Super Giants were reduced to 29 for 4.
Deepak Hooda came to the rescue of the LSG squad. He along with Ayush Badoni stitched a partnership. Both of them batted very well. They moved the strike around and unleashed it on the 14th and 15th over. Deepak got to his fifty in style. But before he could exploit more he perished. Lucknow was then in a better position at 109 for 5. Ayush Badoni carried on the show. He scored a wonderful 54 of 41 balls. He showed a variety of shots as well. Hardik Pandya was bowling 140 clicks and bowled his full quota of overs.
Brief Scores:
- Ayush Badoni 54 of 41.
- Deepak Hooda 55 of 41.
- Mohammad Shami 3/25.
LSG VS GT Gujarat Titans? Batting Innings:
The Gujarat Titans' batting also started on a poor note. Shubman Gill was shown the road to the Pavillion by Dushmantha Chameera. Dushmantha also rattled the stumps of Vijay Shankar to keep the Titans reeling at 15-2. Hardik Pandya walked in at number 4 and took the charge of the opposition. He flicked his first ball for 4.
Hardik Pandya and Matthew Wade moved the game ahead. They rotated the strike. The odd lost ball was slammed for 4. When Hardik perished he left the team stranded at 79 for 3. Matthew Wade also moved to the pavilion by getting cleaned up by Hooda.
Rahul Tewatia then walked in and supported David Miller. Both of them took on the spinners. The moment of the match was when Rahul reverse-swept Ravi Bishnoi for a six! In the last two overs, 20 runs were required. Abhinav Manohar scored a boundary in the penultimate over. And by scoring two more 4s in the last over, Sadarangani got the Titans to victory. Miller's knock was very crucial. KL Rahul went wrong by not giving Dushmantha Chameera his full quota.
Brief Scores:
- Hardik Pandya: 33 of 28 balls.
- Rahul Tewatia: 40 of 24 balls.
- David Miller: 30 of 21 balls.
- Dushmantha Chameera 2/22
