IPL 2022 Mega Auction: All You Need to Know about Date, Players, Teams, Time and Venue: The excitement amongst the fans and cricket pundits have crossed its limits as the IPL 2022 Mega Auction is just around the corner. With less than a week to go for the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, the Indian cricket board is leaving no stone unturned to create hype around the tournament.
This year?s mega auction, which is going to be a two days affair, will see ten teams closely knocking their heads to get some of the finest players in their squad. The addition of the two new IPL teams, Lucknow SuperGiants and Ahmedabad Titans, will create a more competitive space for the other teams.

IPL 2022 Mega Auction Date, Time and Venue:
The marquee event is going to be a two days affair, as I mentioned above. The BCCI has marked 12th and 13th February for the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, which will be held in Bangaluru.

IPL teams taking part in Auction 2022:
All the ten named teams will be a part of the upcoming IPL 2022 Auction. The franchise will be involved in a bidding war for the successful purchase of players.

Total Players In IPL 2022 Mega Auction:
The BCCI has shortlisted as many as 590 players from every corner of the world for the IPL 2022, out of 1214 registered during the initial phase. Out of these 590 players, 370 are domestic cricketers while 220 are overseas.

Base Price:
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has put in place eight price slabs for the players to enlist in the 2022 Mega Auction. The highest price slab is INR 2 Crores while the lowest price slab is INR 20 Lakhs.

Squad Strength Rules for IPL 2022:
The IPL regulatory board has also formed rules and regulations for the franchise squad strength and total players. As per the latest rules, an IPL team can only take a maximum of 25 players on board and a minimum of 17 players.
Of these players, only 8 must be overseas recruited players.

Money left with each IPL Franchise for IPL 2022 Mega Auction:
The BCCI allocated a colossal sum of INR 90 Crores for each IPL team to spend in the purchase of players in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction and in player retentions. All the teams spent a certain amount in retaining a few players from their previous squad. The rest of the money left will be used by each franchise in making purchases in the IPL Mega Auction.
