IPL 2022 opener to be held between CSK and KKR on March 26: Reports: The reports from close sources have claimed that the opener of the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is going to be held between the two finalists of the recently held IPL 2021. The developments confirm that reigning champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on two-time winner Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2022 opening match in Mumbai?s Wankhede Stadium.

However, it must be noted that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to reveal the official schedule for the upcoming cash-rich tournament.

A day ago, a couple of reports indicated that the IPL 2022 opening fixture will be held between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the former team's home ground Wankhede Stadium.

For better clarity on the subject, we will have to wait a couple of days, as the BCCI will soon reveal the official schedule for the IPL 2022.

It is noteworthy that the Maharashtra Government has assured to provide its comprehensive support to the Indian T20 tournament. The state government has guaranteed to give a separate traffic lane for the IPL teams for their to and fro motion to the ground and hotels, which will help them dodge the infamous Mumbai snarls.

All the matches of the IPL 2022 will be staged in Maharashtra only. The premier four venues of state will host the matches. Wankhede Stadium, DY Patil Ground, Brabourne Stadium and MCA International Stadium will be used to host the IPL games.

Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Ground will host 20 IPL matches apiece while the other two aforementioned stadiums will stage 15 IPL games each.

In the interesting development, the BCCI will allow a small fraction of fans to enter the stadium and enjoy the live-action of the matches. Around 25 per cent of fans will be given the tickets for the matches, says the reports.
