Shikhar Dhawan has become the talk of the town ever since he joined the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL. Formerly known as Kings XI Punjab, the team has never lifted the IPL trophy, despite reaching the Final of the IPL once. Shikhar?s team has given impressive performances over the years, as they have managed to keep the fans' hopes high, even after 14 years.
Punjab Kings introduced Shikhar Dhawan as part of their squad in the Mega Auction of TATA IPL 2022. Since the team management made Shikhar the captain, the team has performed well. In 2022, the team finished 6th on the points table but was not far from making it to the Playoffs.

As of IPL 2023, Shikhar and his squad performed much better than expected. They managed to seal their first two matches, though the second game was a thrilling knockout between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals. Shikhar has played the captain role exceptionally well. With rotating his bowlers in the overs and playing captain?s knock in every match, Shikhar has shown experience does matter when you are given the responsibility of a captain.
PBKS vs SRH, 14th Match
PBKS recently played their third game of IPL 2023 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The 14th Match of TATA IPL 2023 saw a jaw-dropping knock which left people questioning the BCCI team selector?s choices. This knock came by the Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan.
The team?s Batsmen were having a hard time against SRH?s lethal bowling attack. The batsmen were walking the crease and back to the dugout faster than expected. With only 1 wicket left in hand, Shikhar managed to stick the crease only to make Punjab Kings reach 143 from 88 in the last five death overs.

Shikhar's Knock
His impeccable batting, and quick fours and sixes, made PBKS reach a fighting total. In the final over, Shikhar decided to keep the strike to himself. He did not take a single and finished the innings with a six, making his score from 99* to just 66 deliveries.
Shikhar missed his well-deserved century but left the fans to give a hint of his past aggressive batting style. We hope Shikhar makes it back to the Indian team squad and makes incredible records!
