IPL 2024: Rajasthan Royals (RR) won their third consecutive match after defeating Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets at Wankhede Stadium in the match no.14 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Rajasthan Royals played dominating cricket since the start of the game and they never let MI make a comeback in the match especially while bowling first. The Player of the match was Trent Boult, who took three crucial wickets and gave only 22 runs.
Mumbai Indians (MI) failed to perform again in the TATA IPL 2024, especially with the bat. Mumbai Indians gave a low target of 126 runs to Rajasthan Royals at the batting heaven wicket in Mumbai. However, this was MI’s third loss in this tournament and they are the only team who haven’t won a single game so far.
Rajasthan Royals playing exceptional cricket in the IPL 2024 and this time, their bowlers have phenomenal performances against Mumbai Indians. Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a fantastic spell as they took three wickets each with a low economy rate. Riyan Parag scored 54 runs and led his team to their third victory of the tournament.

Mumbai Indians (MI) batted first but they played poor cricket in their third match of TATA IPL 2024 as former skipper Rohit Sharma got out at duck in the first over of the match against Trent Boult. However, MI lost four wickets in the first powerplay of the first inning and was able to score only 46 runs. It was an average start from MI, who have one of the best batting line-ups in the IPL 2024.
However, later on, Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma made a crucial partnership of 56 runs for the fifth wicket and both played responsible cricket and led MI to quite a good situation. But, this didn’t last long as Rajasthan’s star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal came into the action after Trent Boult. Chahal took crucial wickets in the middle overs and put Mumbai again on the back-foot.
In the end, Skipper Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma scored 34 and 32 runs, respectively whereas other batters from the MI side failed to score 20+ runs in this match. From the Rajasthan Royals bowling department, Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal took three wickets each whereas Nandre Burger and Avesh Khan took two and one wickets, respectively.
A Easy run Chase by Rajasthan Royals but MI Bowlers didn’t let it smoothly:
Rajasthan Royals had quite a decent start or you can say the same as Mumbai Indians but they haven’t lost wickets like MI. RR scored 46 runs with the loss of two wickets in the first six overs of the second inning. Skipper Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler tried to make a partnership but got out by scoring just 12 and 13 runs, respectively.
However, Rajasthan’s star batter Riyan Parag played another match-winning knock of 54 runs and led his team to a third victory. Parag is looking in a different zone this year as he is in the top 3 list of highest run scorers in the TATA IPL 2024. From the Mumbai Indians bowling department, Akash Madhwal took three wickets whereas Kwena Maphaka took one wicket.
