IPL 2024 Points Table: Delhi Capitals brought up their fourth win of the season by defeating Gujarat Titans by 4 runs in the epic clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
Delhi Capitals, batting first, put up a total of 224 runs in their quota of 20 overs. Despite not getting a solid start, the Rishabh Pant-led side made a brilliant recovery to post such a mammoth total.
All-rounder Axar Patel and skipper Rishabh Pant remained key contributors for Delhi as the two scored their half-centuries. Axar Patel contributed with his 66 runs in 43 deliveries, and Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten at a score of 88 runs in just 43 deliveries.
To finish things off, Pant was aided by Tristin Stubbs, who played a quickfire knock of 26 runs in just 7 deliveries.
The chase was always going to be tricky for Gujarat Titans with such a big total in front of them. To make it more of a task, they lost their skipper Shubman Gill quite early on in the innings.
However, Wriddhiman Saha and Sai Sudharsan got GT's back and took the responsibility to recover from the early jolt. The two stitched a brilliant 82 runs for the second wicket before Delhi got Saha out.
Sai Sudharsan played a good 65-run knock in 39 deliveries which kept GT in the hunt. Later in the innings, David Miller played a fine 23-ball 55-run knock, however, he couldn't stay in the middle for long.
In the final overs, GT required 19 runs with Mukesh Kumar bowling against Rashid Khan. The GT all-rounder, though, managed to score 14 runs, but that wasn't enough to take his side home.
Eventually, Delhi won the game by 4 wickets, which also brought up their fourth win of the season.
