IPL 2024 Points Table: Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) notch up another easy win as they defeated KL Rahul's Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by seven wickets at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. The fixture between LSG and RR saw the visitors go up in the IPL 2024 Points Table to a massive 16 rating points.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) are making every game a cakewalk for them. Such has been the form for them in the ongoing TATA IPL 2024.
After getting a total of 196 runs to hunt, RR began on a solid note with the two openers scoring 60 runs in the powerplay itself. However, LSG struck back and removed both of them in quick succession.
Riyan Parag had an off day in the business as he too departed after scoring 14 runs and RR were three down suddenly at 78 runs.
But things came clean after RR skipper Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel put the team into a rebuilding phase and slowly started striking the opposition. The two batters didn't let the opposition take control of the situation and took their side over the rope by seven wickets.
While Sanju Samson played an unbeaten knock of 71 runs in just 33 deliveries, Dhruv Jurel played a good 34-ball 42-run knock.
Earlier in the innings, LSG piled up 196 runs total in 20 overs riding on the back of a brilliant 76-run knock from the blade of skipper KL Rahul.
Deepak Hooda powered Lucknow's innings with a blitz half-century in just 31 deliveries. The team got a few handy contributions as well from Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni and Krunal Pandya.
But, the night wasn't meant to be LSG's as it had Rajasthan's name etched on it. RR won the fixture by 7 wickets and also brought up their fourth consecutive win of the season.
