IPL 2024: Qualification Scenarios of RCB, How Can Royal Challengers Bengaluru Qualify for IPL 2024 Playoffs

Qualification Scenarios of RCB: Royal Challengers Bengaluru's last night win against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium has once again given hope to the franchise as they aim to secure a playoff berth in the ongoing IPL 2024. RCB trounced SRH by 35 runs in Hyderabad on April 25, to bring up their second victory of the season.
The 35-run win also snapped RCB's six-match losing streak in the ongoing IPL season. The franchise had won their last IPL match exactly a month ago at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on March 25 against Punjab Kings.
RCB's campaign in the IPL 2024 hasn't been smooth by any means. They lost the opening game against Chennai Super Kings in Chepauk but managed to win the second game against Punjab Kings. Following the win, they went on a six-match losing streak, which would have been quite uncomfortable, given RCB's skills overall as a team.
Meanwhile, to change their fortunes in the IPL 2024, RCB have now turned the tables with a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Though the win didn't create any shuffle in the IPL 2024 Points Table, it certainly provided RCB with a winning momentum.
RCB remains at the bottom of the IPL 2024 Points Table with just 4 rating points in nine matches. They have lost seven of their nine games so far.
Qualification Scenarios of RCB in IPL 2024
It looks bleak and discouraging about RCB's qualification scenario in the IPL 2024, but they surely have an outside chance to shock everyone. They have already played out their nine matches, which means they have just 5 matches remaining in the league stages.
To have a chance, RCB must win all of their remaining IPL 2024 matches, leaving them with 14 points in 14 matches. To supplement their chances to qualify for the iPL 2024 playoff, RCB will also require the top three IPL teams - Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad - to win most of their matches.
This situation would land Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the fourth spot in the IPL 2024 points table after the end of the league stages.
To further make it interesting, RCB also has a chance to seal third place, provided luck favours them big time. To make this a reality, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad, placed second and third in the points table, will have to hit a rough patch, making them lose most of their remaining matches in the IPL 2024.
RCB's Upcoming Matches to Qualify for IPL 2024 Playoffs
Surely, RCB has a chance, but it isn't easy by any means. They will take on Gujarat Titans twice in their remaining five matches alongside Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings.
Fortunately, three of these five matches are scheduled to be held at their home venue - M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which will assist them in winning. However, Cinnaswamy has, at times, struggled to aid the home side with the visitors taking advantage of the surface and short boundaries.
It will be interesting to see how RCB plans their moves in the upcoming matches of the IPL 2024. RCB will take on Gujarat Titans on April 28 in Ahmedabad.
