LSG vs KKR Match Summary
Lucknow Super Giants were considered stronger team when they play at their home but KKR didn't took them any serious. Kolkata recorded their 8th win of the season and have almost made it the the playoffs.
The home team Lucknow won the toss and invited KKR to bat first. The KKR openers welcomed the invitation by both hands and smacked over 60 in first four overs. KKR have been successful in finding out the best of Sunil Narine with the bat as he smoked 81 runs with a strike rate of 207. Every upcoming batter added runs to the total and the finishing touches by Ramandeep Singh, who smacked 25 off just 6 balls, helped KKR to reach a mammoth total of 235.
To Chase this down, a big knock from the skipper and one other batter was required but Kudos to the bowling unit of KKR that they didn't allowed any batter to free his arms and bowled the good lengths. Marcus Stoinis posed a threat for KKR but Russell trapped him on a slower.
None of the LSG batter could stand on the crease and it was all done and dusted when LSG was reduced to 101 for five down. Aston Turner showed some shots in the latter half but halted by an unlucky caught and bowled. KKR summed up LSG under 137 and won the game by 98 runs.
PBKS vs CSK Match Summary
It wasn't the best outing for CSK when they batted first, to be honest. They lost Ajinkya Rahane in the second over but skipper Gaikwad and Daryl Michell got a handy partnership to provide a decent powerplay to CSK. Rahul Chahar was too good in the middle overs and he picked up crucial wickets at crucial times.
Shivam Dube got out on a duck, Ruturaj couldn't capitalize on a good start, and Santner also lost the trick early and all those fell prey to Rahul Chahar. Harshal Patel became the first bowler in TATA IPL 2024 to dismiss MS Dhoni and he got him a golden duck.
CSK managed to reach 167 after their 20 overs. The target wasn't too big for a team that chased down 261 a couple of matches back, but it was CSK in the other corner this time. PBKS lost two wickets within 10 runs and it was CSK dominated the arena thereafter.
Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran were the only two batters to cross the 20-run mark.
