Jasprit Bumrah reaches Bengaluru for scans, participation in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 under doubts? Check details
India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has arrived in Bengaluru for the scans related to his back injury ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As per the reports in the Times of India, it is learned that the fast bowler will be monitored closely by the BCCI's medical team.
Although Jasprit Bumrah has been named in the Indian team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the reports claimed that his participation in the tournament will depend on the results of the scans that he will be undergoing at NCA. The scans will be taken this week, and they will be massive in the context of the tournament.
It is learned that Jasprit Bumrah will be there at the NCA for two to three days, and the NCA specialists will be monitoring him closely before sending a report to the selection committee. If the fast bowler is declared fit, then it will be a massive boost for the team, but if he is ruled out, it will be a big blow for the team.
Jasprit Bumrah hasn't been named in the Indian team for the England ODIs as BCCI mentioned that they will be giving the fast bowler all the time to recover. In his absence, Harshit Rana has been added to the team as cover and will be playing in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as well if Bumrah misses.
BCCI will have more than a week to get clarity on Jasprit Bumrah
The deadline to make changes in the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is 12th February. Hence, BCCI will have more than a week to get clarity on Jasprit Bumrah. The management would be hoping that the results of scans come positive and the pacer plays the tournament.
Jasprit Bumrah will be missing the first two ODIs of the England series, as mentioned by Ajit Agarkar. If the pacer is to play then he will be returning to the team in the third match. The three-match ODI series between the teams will begin from 6th February in Nagpur.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will kick start from 19th February. India will be opening their campaign in the tournament against Bangladesh on 20th February at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
