Joe Root becomes best test batsman in Latest Test Rankings, Rohit pips out Kohli.

English test skipper Joe Root has toppled Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson to become the number one ranked ICC Test batsman in the recently announced table. Root?s sublime form in the England vs India test series rewarded him with the crown of best test batsman.

Joe Root, 30 years old, has scored over 500 runs in just three matches of the five matches test series against India. The skipper has stacked three hundred in the series.

Meanwhile, senior Indian opener Rohit Sharma has also made significant gains to pip out his skipper Virat Kohli and achieve his career-best test rankings. Following his scores of 19 and 59 in the Headingley Test, Sharma jumped one place to reach the fifth spot with an aggregate rating of 773.

Virat has constantly slipped down during the ongoing India tour of England owing to his poor run of scores. The Indian skipper has a rating of 766 and is seated at sixth place in the ICC test batsman ranking.

Rohit and Virat are the only two Indian batsmen to feature in ICC?s top 10 test batsman rankings.

Cheteshwar Pujara has been lifted to 15th position after he scored 91 runs in the third innings of the Headingley Test match. While wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is still above Pujara at 12th pace despite slipping down four places.

In the bowlers ranking, pacer Jasprit Bumrah stormed into the top 10 rankings with 758 points. Ravichandran Ashwin despite warming the bench in the first three test matches retained his second place.

English pacer James Anderson has jumped to the fifth spot. His four wickets in the third test match against India aided him to gain one place to storm into the top five. Ollie Robison, the player of the match of the third test, gained nine places to reach 36th after his seven wickets haul.

The bowler?s chart is still led by Aussie pacer Pat Cummins with 908 rating points.?
