Karachi Kings suffer a huge blow as key player gets ruled out of HBL PSL 10 due to injury
Karachi Kings (KK), the 2020 winners, have been dealt a massive setback ahead of their Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 opener versus the Multan Sultans (MS), as key Bangladeshi player Litton Das has been ruled out of the competition due to injury.
The Bangladeshi batsman, who was anticipated to play a key role for the Karachi-based team, hurt his right thumb during a practice session. Further scans confirmed that it was a hairline fracture.
As a result, Das has returned to Bangladesh to receive further treatment and assessment. His injury leaves a big gap in the Karachi Kings squad just before their first match of PSL 2025 versus the Multan Sultans (MS).
The Kings, captained by experienced Australian cricketer David Warner, are scheduled to play versus the Sultans on Saturday night at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.
The 30-year-old, expressed his disappointment on social media, confirming the injury and expressing his sadness about getting ruled out of the tournament.
"The Almighty had other plans, but I was really excited to play in the PSL for Karachi Kings," he remarked. "I hurt my finger during a net practice session. A hairline fracture was discovered via scans, and at least two weeks will be needed for healing. My PSL mission ended before it ever started, which is quite unfortunate. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery with your love and prayers as I take a plane back to Bangladesh. I'm sending my warmest wishes to my team, the Karachi Kings".
With the 2025 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) currently ongoing, the David Warner-led side now face the challenge of searching for a suitable replacement for Litton. The Karachi team management is actively looking for a perfect player to fill the void left by the injury of the 30-year-old, hoping that in spite of this early setback, the team will remain competitive and keep up their momentum in the competition.
