Vivo IPL 2021: KKR vs RCB game postponed due to covid-19 scare in KKR camp.

Vivo IPL 2021: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday postponed the game between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The game was supposed to be held on 3rd May however two players of KKR camp - spinner Varun Chakravarthy and medium-pacer Sandeep Warrier ? tested positive for Covid-19 due to which BCCI had to reschedule the fixture.

The board has also said that the teams who have had games with KKR within the last 14 days to self isolate themselves.

?Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were found to be positive in the third round of testing in the last four days. All other team members have tested negative for COVID -19,? said an IPL press release.

The release from the IPL also stated that both the players have been isolated from the rest of the squad.

?Both the players have isolated themselves from the rest of the squad. The Medical Team is in continuous touch with the duo and are monitoring their health. Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders have now moved towards a daily testing routine to identify any other possible cases and treat them at the earliest,? the release added.

The date for the rescheduled match is yet to be disclosed by the BCCI.

KKR in the last 14 days have played against Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings. All the players from these teams have been asked to self-isolate.

BCCI also asked the match officials involved in these games to take preventive measures and self isolate themselves.
