KKR vs SRH 2025: KKR Dominate SRH with All-Round Brilliance to Seal 80-Run Victory at Eden Gardens

KKR roared back to form after their setback at Wankhede, crushing SRH by a massive 80 runs at Eden Gardens. While Venky Iyer starred with bat (60 off 29), Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakravarthy unsettled the opponent with the ball.

With debates swirling around home teams struggling with pitch conditions, KKR had no such concerns this time. The surface provided just the right amount of grip, perfectly complementing their bowling attack. They made full use of it, first putting up a formidable total and then delivering a clinical performance with the ball to register a dominant victory.

Let's take a look at the Match report of KKR vs SRH 2025:

KKR vs SRH MATCH REPORT

TOSS AND PLAYING11S

At the iconic Eden Gardens, the 15th match of IPL 2025 kicked off with SRH winning the toss and opting to bowl first, looking to capitalize on early movement and restrict KKR’s power-packed batting lineup.

KKR's Playing11: Quinton de Kock (wk), Sunil Narine, Ajinkya Rahane (c), Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Moeen Ali, Ramandeep Singh, Andre Russell, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakaravarthy [impact sub- Vaibhav Arora]

SRH's Playing11: Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Aniket Verma, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Kamindu Mendis, Simarjeet Singh, Pat Cummins (c), Harshal Patel, Mohammed Shami, Zeeshan Ansari [Impact sub- Travis Head]

KKR's Batting First- 200/6 (20 overs)

KKR’s start was far from ideal, as their openers once again failed to fire, leaving the team in a tricky situation. However, Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi took charge, stabilizing the innings with a crucial partnership of 81 runs. They laid a solid platform, ensuring that KKR didn't fall behind despite the early setbacks.

The real fireworks, though, came in the latter half of the innings. Venkatesh Iyer initially struggled to find his rhythm on a surface where the slower deliveries were gripping. But once he got his eye in, he unleashed absolute carnage. His acceleration was staggering, shifting gears seamlessly and dismantling the SRH bowling attack.

His jaw-dropping 66 runs put KKR into the front foot. Rinku Singh complemented Iyer brilliantly, adding his signature finishing touches to push the total even further. By the time the dust settled, KKR had powered their way to a commanding total of 200 runs, addong yet another 200+ total to their impressive IPL record. SRH, known for scoring and conceding such big scores in recent seasons, now had a massive chase ahead of them.

SRH's Rusty Chase- 120/10 (16.4 Overs)

SRH wasted no time in bringing in Travis Head as their impact substitute, expecting him and Abhishek Sharma to set the tone for a daunting chase. However, the plan unraveled almost instantly. Head mistimed his shot and skied the very second ball of the innings off Vaibhav Arora, while Abhishek Sharma edged the 12th delivery straight to the slip cordon.

Vaibhav Arora continued his dream spell, dismissing Ishan Kishan in the third over, leaving SRH in complete disarray at a single-digit score with three wickets down. Their powerplay struggles were evident, managing just 33 runs, further highlighting their overreliance on the top three.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, who has yet to hit his stride this season, couldn't turn things around either, falling for 19. With SRH in deep trouble, Kamindu Mendis and Heinrich Klaasen tried to salvage the innings. However, Sunil Narine struck in the 10th over to send Kamindu back, and Varun Chakaravarthy removed Aniket Verma soon after.

SRH’s hopes faded further as Vaibhav Arora dismissed Klaasen, leaving them in deep trouble. Varun Chakaravarthy struck twice in quick succession, removing Pat Cummins and Simarjeet Singh. Finally, Andre Russell delivered the last blow, putting the final nail in the coffin as KKR secured a commanding 80-run win at Eden Gardens.
