?The Lucknow Super Giants have been fined after they maintained a slow over-rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 24,? a statement read released by the IPL.

?This was the team?s second offence of the season under the IPL?s Code of Conduct relating to a minimum over-rate offences. Despite getting slapped with heavy fines, KL Rahul would be pleased with the kind of cricket they have played against Mumbai Indians. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) thrashed Mumbai by 36 runs and seized their fifth victory of the season.

LSG is now a couple of wins away from getting their playoff berth confirmed. While Mumbai Indians on the other side now have no chance to make it to the top four. With eight consecutive losses, MI is the first team in the history of the Tata Indian Premier League to maintain such a lean start.
