Lucknow?s latest replacement Taskin Ahmad to not participate in IPL 2022 as BCB denies NOC: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) latest replacement of England pacer Mark Wood, Taskin Ahmad will not be participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is unwilling to issue him a No Objection Certificate (NOC).?
Notably, Wood was ruled out of the entire Tata IPL 2022 owing to his elbow injury which he sustained during the opening test against West Indies in Antigua. Mark Wood was signed by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by spending a massive amount of INR 7.5 Crores during the auctions.
Meanwhile, Lucknow decided to rope in Bangladeshi pacer Taskin Ahmad as Wood?s replacement, but the franchise won?t be able to sign the Bangladeshi pacer as BCB has decided not to grant Taskin Ahmad a NOC to feature in the Indian Premier League.
The move has been taken owing to the impending hectic international calendar of Bangladesh.
"Since we have two important series like the ongoing home tour of South Africa and the home series against India, we feel it won't be right for him to take part in the IPL,? said BCB?s cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus.
Yunus further told that they have already informed the concerned pacer about the situation. Taskin has accepted the decision and has also informed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
"We have spoken with Taskin and he has understood the whole situation. He informed the franchise that he is not playing the IPL and will be available for the South Africa tour and later will return back home."
Currently, Taskin Ahmad is in South Africa with his national side. South Africa and Bangladesh are involved in three matches ODI series following which they will lock horns for the two matches test series.
