The ICC Champions Trophy is one of the premier white-ball ICC tournaments. It was introduced back in 1998. The qualification for this tournament is based on the performances of the team in the ODI World Cup. The top 8 teams in the ODI World Cup make it to the Champions Trophy.

So far, nine editions have been held. Australia and India are the two teams that have won this title twice, while New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and West Indies have won it once each. This is one of the biggest platforms for any batter to do well. Over the years, some legendary batters have taken part in this competition and done well. 5. Sourav Ganguly (India)

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly led India to win their first Champions Trophy title in 2002. Ganguly has featured in four editions and played a total of 13 matches. He has scored 665 runs in 11 innings at an average of 73.88 and a strike rate of 83.12. The southpaw scored 3 centuries and three half-centuries with a best of 141 not out.

4. Kumar Sangakkara (SL)

Kumar Sangakkara retired with the most runs and the most centuries for Sri Lanka in international cricket. He was an underrated legend, but his numbers outperformed all of his competitors. Sangakkara was always a consistent batter for Sri Lanka in major tournaments. He played 22 matches in the Champions Trophy and scored 683 runs at an average of 37.94 with a best of 134 not out. The southpaw scored one century and four half-centuries.

3. Shikhar Dhawan (IND)

The Player of the Tournament in ICC Champions Trophy 2013, Shikhar Dhawan helped India win the tournament. He was known as "Mr. ICC" for India. Dhawan had an incredible record in this ICC tournament. He played ten innings and scored 701 runs at an average of 77.88 and a strike rate of 101.59. Dhawan scored three centuries and three half-centuries in ten innings.

2. Mahela Jayawardene (SL)

Just like other Asian batters on this list, Mahela Jayawardene had the second most runs in the history of the ICC Champions Trophy. He played six editions from 2000 to 2013 and featured in 22 matches in total. Jayawardene scored 742 runs at an average and strike rate of 41.22 and 84.80, respectively. The former Sri Lankan skipper also slammed five half-centuries with a best of 84 not out.

1. Chris Gayle (WI)

Chris Gayle was the Man of the Series in 2006, which was held in India when West Indies finished runners-up. The Southpaw had a great record, and he is the leading scorer in the ICC Champions Trophy history. Gayle scored 791 runs in 17 innings at an average of 52.73 and a strike rate of 88.77. He scored three centuries and one half-century with a best of 133 not out.
