MS Dhoni injury: After Gaikwad, MS Dhoni also got injured? Will Mahi not play in the next match versus Mumbai

CSK fans are worried as Mahendra Singh Dhoni injured his leg during a match-winning 26-run knock against LSG, showing visible pain and difficulty walking afterward. With no official update from CSK, his participation in the April 20, 2025, clash against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium is uncertain. Regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad is already out with an elbow fracture, replaced by Ayush Mhatre. Despite a recent resurgence after five straight losses, Dhoni’s potential absence could hurt CSK.

There is a shocking news for five time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK)fans. Their legendary captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is injured. He played a brilliant innings for Chennai against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)and led the team to victory. The veteran was seen facing a problem in his leg during this contest.

He was seen in pain even after the match. A video of this has also surfaced. However, no official update has been given about the fitness of Mahi. 

The 43-year-old came to bat at number seven for the five-time winners. He faced 11 deliveries and played a fantastic unbeaten inning of 26 runs. His inning consisted of four boundaries and a six.

He was seen facing a slight problem in his leg during the last overs of CSK's innings. He was not able to walk properly even after the conclusion of the match. MSD had suffered a leg injury earlier as well. He was unable to play Cricket for a long period of time after this.  

Will Dhoni not play against Mumbai Indians?

The match between arch-rivals Mumbai & Chennai will be played on Sunday, 20 April. This match will be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Whether Dhoni takes part in this high octane clash or not will depend on his fitness. 

But at present Chennai Super Kings has not given any update regarding Dhoni. If the CSK skipper is not fully fit, then he may be out of the upcoming matches.

Gaikwad is out due to injury -

Chennai's regular captain Rituraj Gaikwad has already been ruled out of the competitiondue to an elbow fracture. In his place, the Chennai-based team have roped in young Ayush Mhatre in the team. The five-time winners have already suffered defeats in five consecutive games this season. But they performed well against Rishabh Pant-led side and made a comeback.
