Vivo IPL 2021: MS Dhoni knows how to bring the best out of his bowlers says K Gowtham.
Vivo IPL 2021: The newly recruited all-rounder K Gowtham heaped praise on MS Dhoni?s captaincy and said bowlers love to play under him as he knows exactly how to bring the best out of them.
The Karnataka all-rounder was picked by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the recent IPL auction for a whopping INR 9.25 Crores. He also broke the previous record of the most expensive Indian uncapped player in IPL.
?Bowlers love playing under Mahi bhai because he understands a bowler?s strengths and knows how to get the best out of him,? Gowtham was quoted as saying by the CSK website.
He said that there is no pressure on him to perform for a champion side like CSK.
?I don?t feel any pressure of expectations playing for a champion side like CSK,? Gowtham, who previously played for Punjab Kings, said.
He hailed the CSK?s thought process and operational tactics and that?s what separates them from the rest of the franchises.
?The CSK management understands cricket owing to its long association with the game which again reflects in its approach to players? the comforting words and confidence given when things aren?t going right,? he added.
?It is extremely important to have a strong leading group in the team. They will have a conversation with the bowler if anything specific is needed at that point or if they are working on something and that needs to be followed. If these aspects of the game are taken care of nicely then the execution becomes much easier for the bowlers or any cricketer in the team,? he added.
The three-times champion side is currently in Mumbai and having all the training sessions. CSK was the first team to organise the camps and MS Dhoni was available from the starting date.
As of now, most of the players have arrived for the training camps in Mumbai. Recently Sam Curran and Moeen Ali joined the squad after completing their national duty in Pune against India.
Apart from skipper MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Cheteshwar Pujara, Robin Uthappa are also sweating out to regain the lost image.
MS Dhoni and Co. will begin their IPL 2021 campaign against Delhi Capitals in Mumbai?s Wankhede Stadium on 10th April.
